translation:
ON-OFF's star born in 1998, after that the founder Matteo Vago (guitar) thinked about his band without piano and FX. The sound would
be
riff-oriented. He found the name of the band very fast on his amp and thinking about his idols AC/DC and looking for a short name,
who is easy to remind. In the beginning, they start as a coverband and played songs from Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Chuck Berry, the Beatles
and BB King. The lineup of the band changes a couple of times. There was a ‘come and go’ for the instruments bass-guitar, drums
and vocals in the first years. In 2000 they found the first solid lineup. Samuels Squaiella (drums), Turci (guitar) and Silvio Biachni (bass)
comes into the band. Another important changes comes in 2001 and 2007. The new singer Andre Mastrogiorgio and the new drummer
Lorenzo Milani (ex U.D.O.) enter the band. Another big change comes at the end of 2008, when Fabio Lazzarin (bass), the comeback
of Samuele Squaiella (drums) and Davide Battistella (guitar) enter the band. Matteo himself makes the vocal-part of the band.
Another change was the change from a coverband to a ‘real’ band with own songmaterial. With this lineup, they published in 2010 their
debut-CD ‘Ripcrasher’. The sound of this CD sounds like AC/DC. The sound is a ‘crystal-clear-hardrock’. But enough with those, now we
want to speak about the Music:
The CD starts with the opener ‘Ripcrasher’. This is a mid-tempo HardRock-Song, with nice riffs and a good chorus . The guys really
groove and with every part of the song you can hear, that the guys drinking AC/DC with their mothers milk. You think, that those riffs
are very familiar with you. A good opener to warmup yourself. The next song is ‘Let me play my stuff’. A blues-title with a harmonic.
It’s a mid-tempo track and the song will have some surprises, but not spectacular. When you hear the riff of ‘Rockin blood’ you will see
the walking Angus Young in your mind. The riff is concise during the whole song. This song would be an absolutely fantastic Live-Track.
‘Its hard to break me’ sounded like a Track by the Rolling Stones. This is an average song with no spectacular and no news.
The track ‘Nasty Rhythm’ is more powerful and have more speed. The song goes straight forward. You cant have your feed on the ground.
Cool track. It would be in your mind. Another track with a little bid more speed is ‘I don’t byte’. The song rocks very good, but that’s all.
No more positive feedback. An average song, like most of the other tracks. Nice to hear: You can count the tracks with one hand.
The Opener ‘Ripcrasher’, ‘Rocking Blood’ and ‘Nasty Rhythm’ are the only tracks, they are good to hear.
Result:
The album begins very good, but until the end, it is not really good. After the first hearing you will hear good hardrock like AC/DC,
but then, it would be normal. Most of the songs are at an average. Most of the songs are in a mid-tempo speed, hymns you must looking
with extra glasses. In my opinion, the guys played their instruments very good, but they need more time for composing their songs.
At the end, I can give 6 from 10 points.

translation:
The Rockband ‘ON-OFF’ exists now more than 10 years. Most of them they make Cover- and Tributeshows from
Hardrock-Groups like AC/DC. With this background, the concept for their debut CD ‘Ripcrasher’ was there, before the CD comes out.
Spartan played guitarsound of Rock´n Roll influed by Blues. Nice to hear, but not spectacular and they didn’t play in the same League
like AIRBORNE. Speed- and Trashmetal-Fanatics can now stop with reading this story. The ten songs from the CD didn’t bring
any surprises, different kinds of the speed of the songs and no rythms. That’s pure Rock and during the hearing of this CD
you will have fun. The songs are groovy and comes with fantastic guitar-solos. The lyrics have some typical Rock´n Roll storys.
Rock stuff like ‘Its hard to break me’, ‘I´m a shooter’ or the title-track ‘Ripcrasher’, the very heavy ‘Nasty Rhythm’ or the blues-song
at the end ‘Steamroller Bluse’ and ‘Let me play my stuff’ are not really shocked me, but they comes very good for the moment.
The songs will come better in a Live-Club but on CD the Music will be not really long in your ears. I miss Energy and decidedness
on the CD. So lets hope for the future, that the forthcoming songs are more ‘under fire’.
Singer and Guitar-Player Matteo Vago makes his stuff very nice without the typical ‘Italo-Charm-Bonus-Card’. This is nice to hear
and have some international flair. He is not like a ‘cherry on the cake’ in the international lead-singers (it means his voice), but the effort
on this CD is more than good. Most of the singing of this Italian guy sounds like AC/DC but he put a lot of his own note in the songs.
There are no big refrains in the songs, but nearly none of them are in a Shout-Area, that people can sing the songs.
If you like AC/DC, you must hear this CD. With this Italian guys ‘ON-OFF’ and their debut-album ‘Ripcrahser’ you cant make
anything wrong. Good to hear: ‘Let me play my stuff’, ‘I´m a shooter’ and ‘Nasty Rhythm’.

translation:
This Italian band has started his career in 1997 as a cover band of AC/DC, until they decided to invest in his own compositions,
now they have just released their debut album.
It is not difficult to imagine that the biggest influence in their sound is the band
that they play ultill now,the famous band on which many other groups have based their sound.
The band don't gets to play at 100% the sound of AC/DC, the boys have a own sound more raw, not "heavy" riffs like AC/DC,
I would say that their sound is more accessible and is reminiscent of a band that we reviewed here: THE SIDEBURN.
You should already know what you find when listening to this album titled "Ribcrasher", good old hard-rock'n'roll with blues influences
are well known. As I said, this kind of music does not need to renew a sound more fresh and exciting, I firmly believe that rock'n'roll
is eternal, having no need of innovations meaningless.
Here you hear a direct sound away from the innovative, but who cares!
Especially when you listen to songs like "Rockin 'Blood", catching riff of "Com'on Baby "or heavier "Steamroller Blues".
Listen to this album, feel the beat of his drums, but powerful, very rock'n'roll riffs and forget the "modernity" of certain bands
out there ... So welcome to a new generation of "old" heavy music.

translation:
Whats goin on, if an AC/DC-Coverband publish an Album with their own songs? Right, you will oriented yourself to your idols,
but the result is not sound like independent and conclusive. The result is a failure of the Italian Group ‘ON-OFF’.
If you hear the Name ‘ON-OFF’ you must think, that the musicans of this group will hide themselves behind AC/DC
and don’t want to take a look over the ‘edge of the plate’. If you hear the music of those guys , you hear, that they are going
with fun and idealism on the work. But if you hear the singing of the vocalist Matteo Vago, you will be no more euphoric for the music
of the band. This man cant satisfy with his voice. He sounds like a Roadie, who makes a soundcheck during the rest of the band
is still on stage and rocks. The musicans in ‘ON-OFF’ make the evidence to make a good Job, but this matter of fact makes not
a good group in total. But not only the musicans come to their limit. The songwriting didn’t assure you. The tracks have a kind
of character, who sounded good in a bar and the guests didn’t run away, but it is not more like a luffing with your feets.
‘ON-OFF’ must make their homework, this is a fact and the musicans must see that. On one side it is okay, when the crowd
accepts them as a coverband, but if you have or make your own songs, the quality must be better. If you ask me for a band,
who can be a successor for AC/DC , the only band I know is AIRBORNE. This group (AIRBORNE) have the fire in their ass and
don’t want to be a shadow of their idols (AC/DC). They want to kicks in the ass of the old guys from AC/DC.

ON-OFF ‘RIBRASCHER’ (INDEPENDENT)
ON-OFF is an Italian band with a strong independent CD that contains no-nonsense ballsy straight-ahead Rock and Roll
in the style of RHINO BUCKET, AC/DC, KROKUS, THE CULT, KINGS OF THE SUN, DIRTY LOOKS, HELIX
and AIRBOURNE. 10 tracks are included and without a doubt if you like any of the mentioned bands, this ON-OFF is definitely
an act you will adore just as well. Most of the tracks are uptempo, raw and just pure Hardrock the way it should be played:
LOUD AND PROUD!
The band has put a lot of efforts in the sound of the CD, which basically is perfect and also the CD artwork/booklet looks
very professional, so I can easily recommend the album to the fans of mentioned bands.
